Dalton Days is a celebration of Longview's western heritage. This year The Gregg County Historical Museum wanted to add something faster than a get a way horse to this tradition! When the Dalton Gang rode into Longview on that fateful day in 1894, the bank robbery woke up this sleepy town and sent people in a dash of panic! Thankfully, they were saved by the heroism of Longview citizens and law enforcement. To honor and celebrate these brave folks, we are proud to present the first annual Dalton Dash 5k and Kids Fun Run! The 5k will start with a gunshot and will take runners on a daring dash of their own through the streets of downtown Longview. For our younger Buckaroos, the Kids Fun Run will take place on Fredonia Street only. The award ceremony will immediately follow the 10:00 AM bank robbery reenactment. Registration is now open for interested runners and all registered runners will receive a Race Packet as well as a T-shirt to be picked up at 214 N. Fredonia Street on the morning of the race. All runners are encouraged to stay and enjoy the games, entertainment, and food at Dalton Days.
